For those of you that have not heard, God pulled me out of another one. Emily and I survived a plane crash yesterday alone with the pilot and his 2 small children. From our president on down, the world has been encouraged to pray. Well there’s a good reason for it......IT WORKS!!!

Sunday afternoon after speaking at the All Faiths Service for the Republican Leadership Conference, we boarded an airplane to come home to see Michael’s football game.Needless to say, we never made it.
At about 2:30pm, we lost both engines of the Seneca 2 twin turbo airplane and headed for the ground. We hit very hard, virtually nose first and rolled into the waters of Lake Michigan. Metal pieces of the plane went everywhere. Emily’s shoe ended up in my lap and I freaked, thinking, "what happened to her foot?" I was told later that her shoes were not on her feet. Fortunately, all 3 kids were asleep and never experienced the fear or panic. The adults got pretty beat up but no one is complaining as we all walked away from the crash. Unbelievably, we all were very calm considering our situation.

When I was finally able to get out of the plane, I saw the others standing on shore. I was overcome with joy that everyone was OK. The plane is shattered into over 1,000 pieces, much of into Lake Michigan.

There is so much more to tell but the flight is being investigated. I have pretty severe whiplash and my heads not round anymore J but I lived and am very thankful for that.

I prayed harder than I ever had before and am positive God came through for me and my family again. After NYC and DC, I started to truly realize how quickly life can end. After you have the experience for yourself it really makes you think about your future.

Go home tonight and hug your spouse and kids. Call your parents and tell them you love them. Smile at a complete stranger. Live today and everyday like it’s your last.

I’ll be on the CBS early show with Jane Clayson & Bryant Gumball on Wednesday.

God's Blessings to all of you,
